What is Futsal?
Futsal is an exciting, intense sport where defence becomes attack in a matter of seconds. It is a game strongly likened to 5 a side football but with differences such as kick ins, stop clock and rolling subs.
The sport relies on and develops good footwork, a high level of shooting and decision making under pressure. These skills are something that we focus on teaching and can be transferred back into football.
We welcome those of all abilities into our club who wish to compete, develop, play casually, and meet new people!!
Our Offer
In 2023/24 Futsal will offer:
- Weekly games in various leagues
- Access to frequent training sessions
- 3 competitive BUCS teams (British Universities & Colleges Sports competitions)
- 3 development teams (Mens 4s, Development Teams 1 and 2)
- Local League
- Pathways to the highest levels (National Futsal Series)
- IMS Campus Leagues (Recreational Futsal & 7 a side)
- Weekly social and group events
Development Structure
We aim to develop individuals’ abilities as much as possible and facilitate people climbing the ‘development ladder’ shown.
General Club Information
-Coaching-
For 2023/24 we are proud to be coached by Archie Robinson, a UEFA C qualified coach who also has FA Level 1 Qualifications in Football and Futsal. He has coached Leicester Futsal women's in the National Futsal Series, University of Leicester Women's Futsal and also Tranmere Futsal U18's.
In addition to his extensive coaching experience he has been playing futsal at the highest level since the age of 16 for a host of clubs including Derby and Leicester. A Univeristy of Leicester graduate, he recieved a sports scholarship for 2 years of his study and won sports scholar of the year in 2022. He is a previous club captain having played futsal throughout his entire time at university.
-Training and Matches-
BUCS games are on Sundays of semesters 1 & 2
Dates and times are yet to be determined for development team games
Training slots are yet to be confirmed (Updates will be provided soon)
-Intramural Campus Leagues-
The IMS Campus League is a recreational competition run by the club that is available to anyone who wishes to have fun and meet people.
Don’t worry if you can’t find enough people to make a team, get in touch and we’d be happy to help.

All players selected for BUCS & Local League teams/squads will need to purchase a TL Sports Memberships Membership | Sport and Active Life | University of Leicester & a club membership (£45) by clicking the join button on this page.
All players selected for the development teams/squads who will play in the campus leagues, only need to purchase a club membership (£45) by clicking the join button on this page.

Team Leicester Gold (£150) – Includes gym, spa, and the ability to book facilities out.
Team Leicester Silver (£110) – Includes the ability to book out facilities
Team Leicester (£100) – Has no added benefits
