The Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018, came into force on the 20th March 2019. This essentially means that by law, landlords will be more accountable for the state of their rented accommodation and other conditions. Tenants will be in a position to take the landlord to court if they are non-compliant with the Act.

The Tenants Fees Bill 2018, has been put through parliament and has received Royal Ascent. This means that Landlords and Letting agents will be banned from charging any upfront fees, from the 1st June 2019.
